Scuba diving in Okinawa
In the fall of 2004, I spent a few weeks on Okinawa and dived as much as possible. I dived from several points on the western side of the island, as well as taking a small trip to the Kerema islands to dive for a day.

Diving in Hawaii
In summer 2004 I dived from Oahu. I dived on the wreck of the Mahi, in turtle canyon, and in Hanauma bay. Of course, the water was warm -- 74 degrees at the surface, and probably 10 degrees colder at 100 feet.

Underwater life in the Puget Sound
In summer 2004 I dived from Whidbey Island, which sits near the San Juan Islands in the strait of San Juan de Fuca. The water was 54 degrees, and wave action at the dive site (the ferry terminal to port defiance on the west side) mixed the water so that there was no thermocline down to 55 feet.

Florida Keys
In early 2005, I dived near Marathon & Big Pine Keys. The major reefs there are Looe and Sombrero. I was also able to do a deep wreck dive, which involved my first penetration of a wreck (under strict supervision of course!). This series of dives earned me the PADI advanced certificate, for what that's worth.
